RADIO TRACKING BOX TURTLES Where do the turtles overwinter? Where do they lay eggs? How big are their home ranges? Where do they cross roads? Which habitats do they favor? Over the past year, Aaron Novick, a high school senior at the University School of Nashville, has been following two turtles using radio telemetry to answer these questions and help us learn what we need to do to protect box turtles in the area. We will be posting more of our findings as the project proceeds. Along with gaining field experience in real ecology research, Aaron is recieving school credit for this project. We are looking for another student to take the lead for the upcoming year. If you are interested, contact us at WestMeade@gmail.com
