Genus: Atteva
Species: punctella
Observer(s): Dan Lindstrom
Notes: "We found this fancy bug on our Kitchen Cabinet.-Dan

I love those little moths. That's an Ailanthus Webworm Moth. I'm guessing that's a female; because the antennae are so thin. According to my audubon field guide; ""caterpillar eats foliage of deciduous trees and shrubs; including introduced ailanthus."" Ailanthus the tree is also called Tree of Heaven; and is an invasive exotic plant that I've noticed in our woods; especially dense on the edges of the new developments off of Old Hickory; I think the Lexington planted these trees as ornamental; and they've spread through the woods.-Noah"
